New YMCA Gets Latest Dehumidification Technology

Winona Family YMCA has a new facility with a natatorium that provides a safe, educational and fun swimming experience with a Desert Aire SelectAire Plus unit for the optimal environment with energy efficiency that benefits the Y’s bottom line. Kudos to River Architects for designing the 65,000 square foot building with a 6-lane pool with whirlpool, co-ed sauna, and steam room and general contractor Market & Johnson for building it! Thanks to Winona Heating & Ventilating for completing an excellent installation! 
The nearly 12,000+ sq ft pool area environment is maintained at an 83-85°F air temperature with 55% relative humidity with a pool water temperature of 84°F. Whirlpool water is 104°F.
The new 65,000 square foot facility promises to revitalize the Y, increase member retention and boost membership, providing needed revenue to provide the space and programs the community needs for years to come.
The new, modern, bright and inviting facility features a light-filled 6-lane pool with co-ed sauna, whirlpool and steam room right on the pool deck for safer enjoyment with an optimal environment with energy efficiency that benefits the Y’s bottom line.
The new facility has features absent in the old facility, like the zero-depth entry to the pool which has been a great benefit to members with mobility issues and the whirlpool sauna and steam room on the pool deck.
“We’ve added more than 1,800 members since opening in January, approximately 100 days, averaging 200-220 people that use the pool and hot tub area combined per day from 5am to 7pm, compared to 150 per day in the previous facility,” said Jessica White, Winona Family YMCA Aquatics & Recreation Director. “We’ve had a lot of really positive feedback from members, they love it.”
