MILWAUKEE, WI, May 2, 2023: Desert Aire has published A Guide to a Controlled Environment Agriculture Chilled Water HVACD System Design, a new technical resource. The guide summarizes the major components and options to consider when using chilled water as the source for cooling and dehumidification in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and dehumidification (HVACD) controlled environment agriculture (CEA) applications.

The two main solution types for integrated environmental control in CEA are direct expansion (DX) cooling and chilled water systems.  DX systems use refrigerant as the energy transfer medium vs. the cold water of a chiller system.
